Monday, November 2, 2026. Prepared premarket. Futures below are stamped 1:38 AM ET; stock indications are extended-hours marks around 7:17 AM ET, not opening prices.

S&P 500 -1.82% · Nasdaq-100 -3.46% · Dow -1.09% — Friday's closes, percent only (Robinhood index quotes; DIA).
Nasdaq-100 futures are up 0.84% and S&P 500 futures up 0.43% after a Friday rout that cut the Nasdaq-100 3.46% and Intel 28.49% — and tonight Apple and Palantir report after the close, 24 hours before the midterm elections, with October's jobs report waiting on Friday.
The setup. Friday closed out a brutal October: the S&P 500 fell 1.82% to 7,580.07, the Nasdaq-100 fell 3.46% to 28,384.85 and the Dow fell 1.09% (Robinhood index quotes), with SPY -1.78% and QQQ -3.47% at the official closes (Robinhood). Intel fell 28.49% to $65.84, its worst day since 1974, after its fourth-quarter guide missed. For October as a whole, the Nasdaq Composite recorded its biggest monthly decline since March 2025 (TipRanks; MarketWatch and CNN confirm). Monday's premarket is a bounce, not a reversal: Nasdaq-100 futures +0.84%, S&P 500 futures +0.43%, Dow futures +0.29% as of 1:38 AM ET (TipRanks), and Robinhood extended-hours marks agree — QQQ +0.86%, SPY +0.46%, DIA +0.49%. The VIX was at 19.23 Monday morning (Robinhood), Brent crude fell 3.05% to $109.97 (TipRanks), and Bitcoin's mark was $77,918.02 (Robinhood).

Apple tonight is the week's first verdict. Apple closed Friday at $344.80, down 1.18% (Robinhood), and reports fiscal fourth-quarter results after today's close — Robinhood's earnings calendar carries an EPS estimate of $1.98. The guide is the bar: the company previously projected revenue growth of 9% to 11% year over year, iPhone revenue growth in the mid-teens, and gross margin of 47% to 48% (TradingKey). After a month in which the market punished AI spending plans at name after name, Apple's spending and margin commentary will be graded the same way. The rest of Friday's Mag 7 all fell too — Nvidia -4.14% to $204.81, Microsoft -1.55%, Meta -1.53%, Alphabet -1.38%, Amazon -1.36%, Tesla -0.86% (Robinhood) — and Nvidia is leading the early recovery, +1.17% in extended hours.
Palantir is the other after-close print. Palantir closed Friday at $184.10, down 6.27% (Robinhood), and reports tonight with a Robinhood EPS estimate of $0.39 against the company's own third-quarter revenue guide of $2.160 billion to $2.164 billion. It is +1.25% in extended hours. AMD, down 10.81% Friday to $505.18 (Robinhood), reports Tuesday night. This morning's reported names mostly beat: Estée Lauder ($0.72 vs $0.51 estimated), IDEXX ($4.01 vs $3.71), Marriott ($3.02 vs $2.85) and Check Point ($2.49 vs $2.39); CNA missed ($0.75 vs $1.14) (Robinhood earnings calendar).

What to watch today:
- 10:00 AM ET, Monday November 2 — the October ISM Manufacturing PMI (estimate 54.6, prior 54.5 — CoinDesk calendar), the session's only scheduled data test of the bounce.
- After the close — Apple ($1.98 estimated EPS, Robinhood) and Palantir ($0.39 estimated), plus Vertex ($4.70), Diamondback Energy ($5.46), Clorox ($1.05) and Roku ($0.55) (Robinhood earnings calendar).
- The week behind it — the U.S. midterm elections on Tuesday, November 3 (markets stay open), AMD on Tuesday night, and the October jobs report on Friday, November 6 at 8:30 AM ET (Dow Jones poll: +55,000 jobs — via JKN).
