The setup

Thursday's S&P 500 fell 0.30% to 7,720.39, the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.38%, and the Dow fell 0.25%. CNBC's closing report attributed the pressure to corporate earnings, including Alphabet's sharp decline.

The Nasdaq-100 also fell 1.38% to 29,402.51, confirmed by Yahoo Finance historical data. Friday's futures snapshot shows the pressure extending into another session, rather than an opening result that has already happened.
