Updated 9:25 AM ET: The 8:30 AM jobs report is out. BLS reports October payrolls rose 165,000, unemployment was 4.1%, and average hourly earnings rose 0.4% month over month and 3.1% year over year. The pre-release Reuters poll below was 65,000 / 4.2% / 0.3% / 2.9%. Earlier market quotes remain premarket snapshots, not live prices. BLS release.
What to watch
The October jobs report is due at 8:30 AM ET. The Reuters poll expects 65,000 payroll additions after September's 29,000, unemployment of 4.2%, and wages up 0.3% month over month and 2.9% year over year. Reuters reports traders pricing more than a 65% chance of a December Fed hike. The question for the open is whether the chip bounce survives the labor-market news. October CPI follows Tuesday, November 10.
